In this story the man thinks he can outdo nature itself. He's too ignorant to understand how dangerous it is to travel alone in such weather. If he would only listen to the old man everything would turn out ok.

Setting

  • A man in Alaska

The man has never been out in this weather before. He is traveling a long path that sleds have been pulled through, but the snow has covered it so much it cant be seen.

All throughout this story the man experiences trials. He struggles through everything. The reason is, is because he doesn't want to use his natural thinking. Instead he wants to plan ahead and think that he is stronger and can overpower nature. In some situations this would be ok but not with life and death.
