• They thought he was contacting them (gifts in the tree)
• Dill was fascinated with the thought of finding him
• A shot gun went off while the kids were stalking.

• She is Bob Ewell's daughter
• Accused Tom of raping her
• Not very educated
• Possibly lied/ came onto Tom
• Seems very innocent

THIS IS TOM ROBINSON

• Accused of raping Mayella Ewell
• Considered lower class
• Received an unfair trial due to skin colour
• Stated not guilty of accusations was found guilty in the end
• Seems scared because he knows he will loose

• He is Jem and Scouts father
• He is Toms lawyer
• Good ol' one shot
• Very wise and respectful
• Not prejudice

• He is the sheriff of Maycomb
• He helped Mayella when she was hurt

• Prejudice man/ un educated about the situation
• What he new could have been twisted by someone else

• The people in town gave an unfair trail due to Tom's race
• Tom would've been convicted even if he wasn't guilty
• People think Atticus shouldn't defend Tom
• The town had a unwritten rule that no whites and blacks should fraternize
• The town ganged up on Attuicus for defending Tom

GROWING UP

• As the story progresses Jem matures and takes on the father role
• The kids make wiser and better thought out descisions
• Atticus is growing old and can't be active w/ Jem as much
• They are starting to open their eyes or the way society really is
• They gave up trying to find Boo Radley

EDUCATION

• The kids learn that the town isn't so sweet/innocent
• Learn the accusations of others and learn the towns gossip
• Jem learns to think first when he attacks Mrs. Dubose flowers
• The children see how racist and prejudice the town is

BOB EWELL ATTACKING CHILDREN

• While the kids are being attacked Boo Radley saves them
• The kids realize that Boo only comes out when needed
• Bob accidentally stabs himself in an attempt to hurt the kids
• Scout had to walk Boo home because he's too afraid to be alone
• When the kids didn't want to find Boo anymore that's when they saw him
