:-:Review:-: As Jem, Scout, and Dill leave the court room, they are overcome with emotion due to Tom Robinson's being found guilty. Atticus returns to home exhausted and depressed.
The family cannot understand how Tom could have been found guilty. When Atticus wakes up in the morning, he finds his table full of food. Calpurnia explains that it was brought to them by the
African American community, who were very grateful for Atticus' work. After breakfast, Scout and Jem are summoned to Miss Maudie's house for cake. As they eat, Miss Maudie explains to Jem and Scout that things may not be as bad as they seem.
She tries to explain to them that there are people in the world who are called to do the things that most do not wish to do. That person was Atticus. At that time, Miss Stephanie came running in to exclaim that Bob Ewell had threatened To kill Atticus, and spit in his face.
