To Kill A Mocking Bird

Playlist Made by Emma Fisher

WINDOWPANE - OPETH

  • I imagine this song being sung about Boo Radley.
  • This is because it's talking about a face seen behind a window,
  • as Boo often was. It also talks about them needing to be talked too,
  • and just needing a friend. I think this is an extremely relative song
  • when talking about Boo.

MONSTER - MEG & DIA

  • When I listen to this song I see Mayella singing
  • this to Bob. I think this because this song is about
  • abuse and rape, from the perspective of the victim.
  • I also think this because of the line where it says
  • "Then he slowly saw their nightmares were his dreams"

HELL IS FOR CHILDREN - HALESTORM

  • When I hear this song in my head I see it being sung
  • about Mayella and her brothers and sisters. I think this
  • because it strongly represents child abuse and it pushes
  • towards what Mayella goes through at home with her
  • father.

HAUNTED - EVANESCENCE

  • I imagine Mayella singing this song about Bob, because
  • of the overall tone of the song and some of the lyrics
  • "Watching me, wanting me I can feel you pull me down.
  • Fearing you, loving you". I believe that this is how Mayella
  • felt about her dad. She was afraid of him, but she loved him.

COME AWAY TO THE WATER - MAROON 5

  • In my head this song is being sung by the lynch
  • mob / the jury to Tom Robinson. I think this
  • because this song is about slaughtering an
  • innocent thing, and has a foreboding feel
  • to it.

LIES - BAND OF SKULLS

  • I think of this song being sung to the Towns
  • People about all of the lies and rumors that
  • spread like wildfire through the town about
  • everything and anything.

DON'T MATTER - AKON

  • I see this song in my head being sung by Dolphus
  • Raymond to his wife. I think this because of all the hate
  • they get from the people in town for him being a white
  • man married to a black woman. I also think that this is
  • a really sweet song that represents love perfectly.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD RAP - ROB SCOTLAN

  • This song sums up Tom Robinson's court case
  • with the Ewells almost perfectly. It says
  • everything there is to sat about the case and
  • the way the towns folk treat Tom, and kind of
  • opens it up in a raw way that just reading can't show.
