COLOR AND EMOTION

ADVANTAGES/LIMITATIONS

  • Different colors provoke different emotions
  • This can be both an advantage and a limitation
  • in terms of understanding color

RED

  • Red is associated with war, blood, danger, strength, and power
  • It is also associated passion, desire, and love
  • These are almost opposite things
  • Creates an ambiguity in our understanding of red

BLACK

  • Black is associated with death, evil, and mystery
  • The use of black in the Halloweekends logo
  • reinforces the idea that this is a "scary" event

COLOR AND SENSORY PERCEPTION

LIMITATIONS

  • Color is only visible
  • It can't be detected by any other sense
  • Those who are color blind perceive colors differently

ADVANTAGES

  • Color could not be understood without sensory perception
