Invasions and wars made for less land to farm. This led to over farmed land which weakened the economy.
Military Problems
Rome was paying barbarians, who went to the highest bidder. They were having a harder time paying them because their economy was tanking.
The Plague
It killed a lot of people, which weakened the economy and agricultural production.
