WHAT IS A TORNADO?

  • A tornado is a violent rotating column of air extending from a thunderstorm to the ground. The most violent tornadoes are capable of tremendous destruction leading to massive damage.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF TORNADOS?

  • 1.Instability and Wind Shear Conditions The changeability is created when there is the presence of warm conditions in the lower atmosphere and cooler conditions in the upper atmosphere. The cooler layer prevents the warm air from moving upwards, creating changeability.

HOW DO TORNADOES HAVE IMPACT ON PEOPLE?

  • Tornadoes can effect humans because it can destroy their homes and they can die or injure themselves.Tornadoes can effect humans because during a storm many hospitals are destroyed so when humans are in serious condition there is a less chance of surviving.

WHERE DO TORNADOS MOSTLY OCCUR?

  • wherever conditions are right, tornadoes are possible. In the U.S. they are most common in the central plains of North America, east of the Rocky Mountains and west of the Appalachian Mountains. They mostly occur during the spring and summer; the tornado season comes early in the south and later in the north.

HOW DO TORNADOES HAVE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT?

  • Tornados effect the environment by destroying buildings and trees.Tornadoes can also kill animals and ruin farms which means there will be shortage of food.After everything is destroyed humans have to rebuild houses and regrow plants.Fires may occur after a tornado due to damaged power lines and gas leaks.Trees will be damaged and will take years to grow.
