TOURISM IN AntARTICA

Tourism in Antarctica is a great thing as it teaches and shows people all about Antarctica. Even though this is good for others it isn't good for Antarctica, some people don't care about the well being of Antarctica and decide to ruin it.

TOURISM PROBLEMS

• Littering
• Disturbance Towards Animals
• Pollution
• Disease/Sickness
• Vegetation Trampling

Going to Antarctica is also a risk for a few people. Tourists have to take very careful precautions as to what they bring and what they do. In the past few years there have been numerous accounts of ships sinking. The ships then pollute the ocean in Antarctica, harming animals that live in the sea such as Killer Whales, Salmon Sharks, Penguins and other animals as well.

ScIENTIFIC SIGNS OF TOURISM PROBLEMS

• Animals have been showing signs of distress
• There has been a big increase of litter and waste
• A few boats have had oil and petrol spills
• Increase of animals have been getting fevers
• Effects on animals depending on humans instead of their instincts.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?

• Minimisation of people coming in and out of Antarctica
• Less use of automatic transportation
• Minimise our waste and pollution
• Do not overfish just for food
• Not over requesting supplies from your home country

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE CONTINUE?

Continuing to let in tourists come in and pollute and harm Antarctica will lead to many problems and will lead to an unbalance in the world. If tourists continue to dump waste everywhere the oceans of Antarctica will end up being polluted making animals having to suffer sickness or a disease. Tourists coming in and out pollute the air making the air polluted effecting us and animals in Antarctica

Tourism in Antarctica, is it really contributing and helping the society in Antarctica or is it another problem that could end Antarctica?
