Baghdad, the capital of Abbasid Dynasty, was an advantage for trade. Baghdad was in the center of all the main trading routes such as the Silk Road and Royal Road.

There were many advances in various areas such as mathematics, pottery, medicine and astronomy

Arabia became an important link in trade between China and India as well as Persia and Byzantine Empires

Culture was traded as well, for example the connection with Eastern Africa created the "Swahili" which was a language mixed with Arabic and Bantu
