The government wanted all land east of the Mississippi River.
They did not want to share land with the Native people.
This happened to the Seminole Indian of Florida in 1838-1842.
They fought 3 wars until 1842 costing the U.S. over $20 million and over 1,500 men.
Osceola was their leader who promised to fight the white invaders " till the last drop of Seminole blood has moistened the dust of my hunting ground."
The Indian tribes were moved from their homelands their farms, their house, businesses, churches and cabins.
Moved up to 1,000 miles to OKLAHOMA.
The Seminoles live in the south east for 12,000 years but were not allowed citizenship until 1934.
