what is a transition word?
- transitions are phrases or words used to connect one idea to the next
- they are used by the author to help the reader progress to each idea.
- different transitions do different things
Transition words are used for many things, it just depends on what type of sentence or paragraph you're explaining to decide what transition word to use
I'm not going to list all of the transition words because there is so many but here are some examples..
If you're on your introduction you might use words like "such as, for example, or like." these just help make your sentences/paragraphs better and more broad.
So in my conclusion transition words just help the reader understand your story clearly, without having to do any mental defining or making connections themselves.
