I believe that the most important invention for transportation is the airplane. To this day there isn't a single mode of transportation more efficient at transporting people long distances in a short period of time. Thanks to this invention, people and goods can be transported around the world at incredible speeds. Airplanes provide people the opportunity to travel across land and sea which no other vehicle can do. With advancements in technology, the abaility to carry more people for longer distances is continuing to improve. This was only possible because of the Wright Brothers' invention.
