TRICHINOSIS

SYMPTOMS

  • Abdominal discomfort
  • Cramping
  • Diarrhea
  • Muscle pain
  • Fever

WHAT CAUSES TRICHINOSIS

  • Undercooked or raw food
  • Pork products

INCUBATING PERIOD

  • 1-2 (enteral phase)
  • 2-8 weeks (parental phase)

HOW MANY PEOPLE GET IT.

  • Between 15,000 & 300,00 people infected yearly
  • 1.5 million people have T.spiralis infections

DIAGNOSIS

  • It's a diagnosed by blood test or muscle biopsy

TREATMENT

  • Medicines suck as mebendazole or albendazole can be used to treat infections in the intestines
  • Pain medicines can help relief muscle soreness

BE PREVENTED

  • Pork & meat from wild animals should be cooked until we'll done.
  • Freezing pork for 3-4 weeks, will kill the organism.
