  • Protozoan parasite called trichomonas vaginalis

TRANSMISSION

  • This is an std, so it is transmitted through sexual intercourse

  • 70% of infected people have no symptoms
  • Mild irritation
  • Severe inflammation

  • Burning after urination or ejaculation
  • Burning of urethra
  • Slight discharge from urethra

  • Discomfort with intercourse
  • Itching of the inner thighs
  • Vaginal itching

  • Prescription medicine
  • Metronidazole

  • If untreated then it may infect the urinary tract
