PLANTS
The rainforest is home to probably the most amazing yet unusual plants ever.

Açaì palm
Native to south and Central America. The açaì palm I found in regularly folded areas. This slow growing shade loving palm takes 4-5 years to produce its fruit.

Heliconia
These are quite common in the rainforest. They are often found as ornamental plants for garden and land scape areas.

Coffee
This shade loving plant thrives in areas of high altitude. Two thirds of the worlds coffee is grown in Latin America.

Geography
More than 50,000 of the earths rainforest has been destroyed by deforestation.
The rainforest is a self watering biome .
