TOUCHING SPIRIT BEAR

COLE'S RETURN

• Cole had a choice of going to jail or returning to the island after his injury
• He chose to return because he new he could learn how to banish his anger but he couldn't do this without help
• Cole also wanted to prove to everyone that he could survive and heal by him self
• Those aren't the only reasons he wanted to return he wanted to encounter the Spirit Bear again

COLE'S CHANGES AND GROWTH

• In the beginning Cole was self-center and hated everything/everyone
• After the fight with the Spirit Bear, Cole realized that his mind was taken over by anger
• Once returning to the island he started to heal but he couldn't fully heal until Peter forgave him
• Coles anger was extinguished after Peter forgave him. Cole will never be the old self-centered Cole Matthews

TSB IMPACT ON ME

• I've realized you can't grow and change with out making good and bad choices
• When you do something bad you think it's not your fault but sometimes it is
• Bad choices lead to bad consciences good choices lead to the opposite
• You have to forgive yourself and the victim has to forgive you. Then it will be over
• We should all remember the next time you do something bad their will be consequences

PETER'S LAST STAND

• Cole decided to beat up Peter because Peter ratted him out to the cops when Cole robbed a store
• Cole and whoever else wanted to attend could go to Cole's circle justice meeting
• The circle decided to punish Cole by sending him to an island off of the coast of Alaska
• Cole would have to survive with limited amount of supplies and no company

COLE'S BIG MISTAKE

• Once Cole was alone he decided to burn down the shelter because he thought he could survive without help
• This was a bad choice; he lost all of his supplies including food,water and guides on how to survive
• At this point in time Cole's mind was taken over by anger and his jealousy of everyone else

COLE VS SPIRIT BEAR

• Cole heard about the Spirit Bear, he didn't believe that it existed
• He saw it on the shore line and decided to attack it because he thought he was stronger
• This was a huge mistake Cole suffered several wounds all over his body
• He couldn't finish the year on the island because he had to be taken to the hospital to heal

RETURN OF PETER

• Peter wanted to commit sew-aside because he couldn't sleep at night because of the fight
• Cole said he could try to heal Peter and make his mind erase the bad memories of the fight
• Peter got his revenge by fighting Cole and he wanted Cole to fight back but cole wouldn't
• Peter mind was finally clear of the fight. Cole and Peter have forgiven each other

DEALING WITH CONSEQUENCES

• Cole has dealt with his consequences very well
• For the bad consequences he was always stayed strong he never gave up on healing
• Cole fought the anger and consequences to heal because he wanted to
• He dealt with some consequences well, but others badly. Cole knew that he caused the bad consequences
• Cole stopped creating bad consequences by only making good choices and decent choices

IMPACT ON OTHERS

• Edwin and Garvey have been most impacted because the had to teach Cole how to heal
• Peter was impacted with both the mental and physical injuries from the fight
• Every one was impacted because they had to make shore Cole wouldn't cause more harm
• They also had to attend to circle justice to figure out his punish ment
