What are tsunamis?
A tsunami is a series of waves caused by underwater earthquake, by a volcanic eruption, landslide, rapid changes in atmospheric pressure, or a meteorite.

If the people are related to you or if they are friends, you could help them by sheltering them if they lost their homes. If you are in the tsunami with them. You could give them food and try to find something that floats.
