"An old man,

Morrie is an old man dying from ALS. He is a retired high school professor, an "awesome" dancer, and a coach to Mitch Albom.

Mitch is a 30 year old husband, when he learned his old mentor was dying he went to Morrie's home every Tuesday before he died.
