Customs
Turks customs was to 1. Give a firm handshake when meeting someone and 2. Close friends and or relatives get greeted with a kiss or two on the cheek.
MUSIC
The original music of the Turks is folk and classical.They use instruments like a Laguma,tare,kalak,the auevedeny,ect. The Turkish music was oppened by the Istanbul.
RELIGION
Turkic civilizations of the 6th century were devoted to shamanism and Tengriist traditions, which are known for having shamanism, animism, totemism, and both polytheism and monotheism. Tengriism was the predominant religion of all the Turkic branches before the 14th century, when most of them accepted Islam. After the downfall of the Soviet Union some Turks in Siberia rejected eastern orthodox Christianity because they felt that shamanism had been revived. Also, during the late 700s many Turks believed in the now extinct Manichaeism. After this, Tibetan Buddhism, or Vajrayana, was the main religion. Some Siberian Turks still follow shamanism, but many have converted to Christianity. now, many Turks follow Judaism or the Muslim religion. Tibetan Buddhism, or Vajrayana was the main religion.
LANGUAGE
The official language talked by Turks is Turkish, but 6% of the population speaks Kurdish,1.2% Arabic, and more then 0.09% circassion.
FOOD
The lunch is served between 12:00 and 13:00(1:00 pm here)in the normal work days . In big cities people do not go back home for lunch. Meals are generally simple but Turkish cookery.Turks can separate the turkish dishes in 5 types: soups, cold dishes, hot dishes & meats (main dishes) and dessert.Turks love soup, even in the summer. Some soups that they eat are: yogurt soup, red lentil soap, tomato soap, sheep soap with yogurt, etc... Turks eat lots of bread with soup and
other dishes.Dinner is usually made at home with the family, but the housewives love to cook so they make it very well.Turks drink beer but the most popular alcoholic drink is Raki(made of anises).
