No sooner had I put the words on the page than they tumbled off the edge and disappeared. At this rate I'll never make it as a writer.

Just borrowed my friend's copy of '15 Ways To Kill Your Husband'. She apologised for the blood stains. Apparently #13 can get messy.

He fished out the two floating objects from his beer, a top set of dentures and a glass eye. He wondered who the teeth belonged to?

What a lovely present. Your bloodied left ear. They say if I don't pay up it'll be your left one next. I can't wait!

They shone a bright light in my eyes. Then the questions started. I never thought meeting her parents would be this hard.

Granddad was devastated. Apparently the tooth fairy was a myth. That night he put his teeth in a glass and not under his pillow.

The rumble in his stomach interrupted the important meeting. His boss glared at him. Then came the flatulence. His career was over.

She wasn’t keeping up with the others, so Jenny was put in the ‘slow readers group’. This suited her. It’s where all the boys were.

Yellow puss oozed from the swollen blisters around his lips. She licked her lips in anticipation of their first kiss.

In a panic Goldilocks shot Baby Bear dead. Mummy and Daddy Bear rushed at her. She fired twice more before returning to the porridge

The crew were starving and it was almost Christmas. They hoped Noah wouldn’t notice that one of the turkeys was missing.

The children stood in a circle chanting, “Fight, fight, fight.” The Headmaster smiled, at least he had the crowd on his side.

Santa knew the children would be disappointed, but what could he do? It wasn’t every week that you got a chance of a fortnight in Barbados.

Flowers by the tree, a reminder of his untimely death. Skid marks in the middle of the road, a reminder of his drunken driving.

Dead Certainty, 100-1 on. It fell at the first, broke a leg, had to be shot. That would soon be his fate if he didn’t pay his debts
