  • Currently 550,000,000 active twitter accounts.
  • Created by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone, and Noah Glass.
  • Online social networking that enables users to send and read short messages called tweets.

STRENGTHS

  • Large market reach
  • Fast updates enabled
  • Media exposue
  • Geo-tags allow companies to deliver locally specific ads

  • Most chosen by celebrities
  • Business use it as advertisement
  • Only real competitor is facebook

WEAKNESSES

  • Limited to certain amount of characters per tweet
  • Many workplaces block it
  • Server is down a lot

  • Liability issues with information leakage and security
  • Hard to train management groups on social media principles
