Why did he Influence Modern Times?

1. Unique Style of Art

Unique Style of Art

"[Modes of Coloring] was an innovation because, in the traditional workshop of the fifteenth century, a master typicaly had ony one color style, which he taught to his aprentices. As a result of Raphael's experimentations withcolor, the next generations of painters felt liberated to vary their choice of colors with each commisstion and to develope new modes [of coloring]" (Saari).

Basically, he matched colors with other objects to make a theme. Stores such as Target, Best Buy, etc, match their colors with their products.

WHERE ARE ALL OF THESE PRODUCTS FROM?

Shops and stores these days match their colors and logos on each one of their products.

This is an example of Raphael's "Modes of Coloring"

More examples include: Best Buy, Professional Sports Teams

Picture=Perfect Example

All of the bags and the cart match Targets main colors...Red and White.

Miami Dolphins: Orange, Blue, White
Patriots: Red White Blue
Etc.

Why Did he Influence Modern Times?

2. He modified/adapted other artists' styles. He later taught these modified styles to his pupils at his school

He took other artists' styles and made them his own. He modified them and refined them to make it better than it was before. He later taught these "refined" styles to his pupils at his school.

"After his death, members of Raphael's workshop emphasized the artists protomannerist aspects when they disseminated their version of his style throughout Rome and Beyond. His later style was modified and adapted to the aesthetic requirements of mature mannerisum." (Raphael)

Basically, people spread his ideas after he taught the ideas.

After he died, his apprentices taught the things that he taught to them.

What Did His Teachings Do?

His teachings were learned by his pupils of his school. Based on what was said on the slide before, his pupils taught what he taught to them and it started a chain reaction. His reinvented styles were spread widely all over Europe, after his death.

Conclusion

1. Teachings were spread widely.
2. His modes of coloring are still around today
3. His influence is still around today.
