Types of Discontinuity

What is a limit?

A limit in calculus is a y-value that we approach, but may not reach.

A discontinuity is a break in the graph of a function.

There are 3 types:
1. Removable
2. Step
3. Infinite

Removable-there is one point that is not continuous.

Step- there is a large break in the function

Infinite - the function approaches infinity

Your team will now create your own presentation about one type of discontinuity.

Haiku Deck Guidelines

• Choose one type of discontinuity.
• Create a function that illustrates your discontinuity.
• Prove your discontinuity by finding the limit by table.
• Put all of your work in a Haiku Deck. You can use any of the tools available to get your work into pictures : snipping, Smartview, taking pics on cell phones, etc.
