Types of maps

A road map is a map that displays roads and transport links. Not many people still use an actual road map its self. Road maps help people get to where they need to be. Road maps provide us with information like how we can travel from one place to another, physical features, political features.

A topographic map is a map characterized by large-scale detail and quantitative representation of relief. This map shows natural and man made features.

A aeronautical map is designed to assist in navigation of aircraft. This map shows a aircraft's flight paths.

A concept map is a diagram that depicts suggested relationships between concepts. This diagram/ map can help with things like engineering, designers, technically anything.

A spider map is organized by placing the main point in the center. It can be used for brainstorming and etc.

A hierarchy map presents information in a descending order of importance. The most important information is placed on top.

A flow chart is a type of diagram that shows a work process or workflow. It can be used to show movements, actions, etc.

Gene mapping is used to identify the locus of a gene and the distances between the genes.

A floor plan is used to show the rooms of a structure. It is mostly used in construction but it can be used for other things as well.
