FREEZE RAIN

  • Raindrops that freezes when it hits a hard surface.
  • It happens during a cold day.

SNOW

  • A raindrop that freezes and becomes snow flakes.
  • It forms when water vapor was directly converted into ice crystal.

HAIL

  • A hail is a round pellet of ice that are larger than 5mm.
  • Hail forms only inside clouds during thunderstorms.

SLEET

  • Rain drops that freezes when it falls and is less than 5mm.
  • It forms when the air meets the freezing point and falls.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST

  • All four precipitation all occur during winter.
  • Hail and sleet both are ice pellets except their size.
  • Also, hail and sleet forms differently.
  • Snow occurs the most during all the places in the world.
