  • Common bacterial disease
  • Spread through ingestion of feces of infected person
  • Spread in food and water

TREATMENT

  • Not fatal in most cases
  • Treated with antibiotics
  • Surgery needed in cases with intestinal perforation

INTERESTING FACTS

  • Early plague is believed by some to be Typhoid
  • Some strains of Typhoid are resistant to some medications and treatments
