1.
UKRAINE CRISIS
BY COLE KEARBY 2ND PERIOD
2.
HOW DID THE UNREST IN UKRAINE BEGIN?
President Viktor F. Yanukovych’s signals in early 2013 that Ukraine would make an agreement with the European Union to the angry protests by the
End of the year that flared in the towns square, that were never resolved and resulted in the Ukraine crisis.
3.
Who is President Yanukovych, and why has he fled?
He was the president of the ukraine but has been forced to
flee because he is being charged with mass murder and
the state of the country is horrible.
4.
Who are the protesters?
The protestors are just citizens that want a change
to the cruel environment they have had to deal
with for so long.
5.
Why did the unrest escalate in the past two weeks?
The protests had seemed to have tapered off but
whenever Russia offered the Ukraine a 15 billion dollar
lifeline to help with the economic crisis, the protests erupted
and the government unraveled.
6.
What role do Russia and the West play in the Ukrainian crisis?
The civic unrest in the Ukraine is mostly due to an outgrowth of the
cold war. Also with the U.S. and Russia jockeying for position as
first responders, Russia feels they need to help fast.
7.
HOW DO YOU THINK THEY CONFLICT WILL END?
I do not think there will be a great ending. The ukraine will
be so economically unstable and restless I don't see a happy ending
or everybody being happy. There will be some bitterness to this issue.
