- Sun
- Tanning beds
- Used to sterilize some medical equipment and some foods
- Used in medicine

- Blood is taken from patient
- Blood is eradicated with ultraviolet light
- Bacteria and cells containing bacteria are killed
- Blood is returned to patient
- This reveals the bacteria to the immune system so it can be eradicated
