Bighorn sheep live mainly in the Rockies in BC, in alpine meadows, grassy mountain slopes and foothill areas near rugged, rocky cliffs and bluffs.

They eat mainly grasses and other low-growing plants. Aside from humans, the main predators are wolves and the occasional cougar, coyote, bear, lynx, or bobcat.

Their most distinctive characteristic are the horns, which are never shed, and can weigh up to 13kg in males. They come in varying shades of brown, with a white rump.
