ACUTE TRIANGLE

  • An acute triangle is a triangle that has three acute angles.

  • A triangle that contains one right angle.

OBTUSE TRIANGLE

  • A triangle with one obtuse angle.
  • A real world example is the sides of an easel or a ladder.

EQUIANGULAR TRIANGLE

  • A triangle whose sides are all congruent.
  • A real life example would be the pyramids.

EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE

  • A triangle whose sides are all congruent.
  • A real life example is a triangular traffic sign.

ISOSCELES TRIANGLE

  • Triangle that has at least 2 congruent sides.
  • A real life example would be a hanger.

SCALENE TRIANGLE

  • A triangle with no congruent sides.
  • Real life example is the sail of a sailboat.

  • Three sides of a triangle that are congruent.

SAS

  • A triangle contains a congruent angle between congruent sides

ASA

  • Two congruent angles with a congruent side between them.

AAS

  • Two congruent angles on opposite sides.

CPCTC

  • Corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent.

CONCURRENT

  • When three or more lines meet at one point.

MEDIAN OF A TRIANGLE

  • A line segment from the vertex to the midpoint of an opposite side.

CENTROID

  • The point where three medians meet.

ALTITUDE OF A TRIANGLE

  • A line segment connecting a vertex to the line containing the opposite side and perpendicular to that side.
