University of North Alabama
UNA traces its roots all the way back to 1830, It was the first state-charted college in alabama.
There are 7,000 students of whom are 55% percent women and 45% men. About 70% of students enroll full time.
UNA has more than 50,000 alumni throughout Alabama, the Southeast region and the world.
UNA offers its honers program to students who value a close bond community of other student scholars and faculty. Honor students are given a scholarship streight from the honors program
A UNA education can be global both on campus and off. Off campus, students study the world, visiting destinations such as Costa Rica, Mexico, Scotland and Spain, to name a few.
UNA is accredited by the Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the bachelor’s, master’s and education specialist degrees.
The Distinguished Events Series and the George Lindsey UNA Film Festival, named for UNA alumnus George Lindsey, of “The Andy Griffith Show” fame.
Tuition at UNA is among the lowest in the state and in the nation. About 66 percent of the students receive financial aid, with a typical package being about $5,000 per year.

Men’s varsity sports include football, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf and cross country, while women’s sports include volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer, tennis and cross country.
UNA occupies one of the most picture-perfect college campuses in Alabama. Its more than 130 acres offer a pedestrian-friendly environment in Florence’s historic district.
