The fourth amendment is against unreasonable search and seizures
For someone to search a house they need at search Warrant
Need permission from the owner to search their house
If someone thinks you committed a crime and find evidence of the crime and may take it if it's in plain sight
The fourth amendment was ratified December 15 1791

If someone's life is in danger
If items are in plain sight
If permission given by owner

REASONS WHY THE FOURTH AMENDMENT IS GOOD
Strangers won't go inside your house and steal
Won't sue you unless they have proof
Policemen can not search your body,house,papers, or other things without having a good reason

FOURTH AMENDMENT IN COURT CASES
Americans were sued for stolen evidence
Americans were also sued for smuggling
Police has to convince the judge that the suspect has committed a crime
Many cases are dismissed in court because someone is arrested for having something stolen
This amendment is the reason for police always asking permission to come in your home or to search your car.
