What is the Greek religion?
The Greek religion is a collection of beliefs, rituals and mythology. The religion started in 800 B.C during the Greek dark ages

The Greek religion is a polytheistic religion with a lot of gods specializing in a specific thing (I.e. Zeus god of thunder.) and people would pray to a god before to go do something.

Teachings/ beliefs
The Greek economy was based on agriculture not trade. only people that were believed to be related or a descendent of a god were allowed to serve on a council

Holidays/festivals
The Olympic Games, which were held in honour of Zeus. Also the Pythian games, which ere held in honour of Apollo

HOW THE ANCEINT GREEK RELIGION HAS CHAMGED OVER THE YEARS

• The biggest change is how Ancient Greek is not considered a religion. It is now considered a mythology.
• Greek speaking people from the North came and changed all the gods names. (I.e. sky god (Zeus)

HOW ANCIENT GREEK HAS STAYED THE SAME OVER THE YEARS

• All the Greek gods are the same Greek gods as before even though they god renamed
• Also the way they were worshipped and the story’s are still told the same
