RUSSIA WITHDREW

  • In Russia of March ,1917 there was civil unrest
  • By 1917 almost 5.5 million soldiers were injured or killed so the Russian army decided to withdraw from the war

RUSSIA WITHDRAW

  • Later in 1918 Russia and Germany both signed a treaty ending the war between them which made peace
  • Communist leader Vladimir Ilyich seized power and one of his first acts was to offer Germany a truce

THE CENTRAL POWER COLLAPSE

  • Russia's withdrawal from the war gave Germany many advantages
  • In March 1918, the Germans made one final attack on France

CENTRAL POWERS COLLAPSE

  • By this time,the German military weakened and the effort to reach the Marne had exhausted all of their resources
  • Then on November 9, 1918, Kaiser Wilhelm stepped down and Germany became a republic
