-The narrator is telling us that he can hear things in heaven and in hell.
-Also he is trying to convince us that he is not mad.

-The narrator loved the old man because the old man never wronged him,and never give him insult.
-But one of the old man's eye resemble of a vulture-pale blue eye.

-Every night, about midnight, he turned the latch of the old man's door and opened it.

-He fairly chuckled at the idea that perhaps the old man heard him.

-He head his head in and was about to open the lantern when his thump slipped upon the tin fastening.

-Death approaching him, had stalked with his black shadow before him, and enveloped the victim.

-He had waited a long time, very patiently, without hearing him lie down.

-He saw with perfect distinctness- all a dull blue, with a hideous veil over it that chilled the very marrow of his bone.

- The narrator knew the sound well too. It was the beating of the old man's heart.

-But the beating of the old man's heart grew louder and louder like it was about to burst.

-In an instant, he dragged the old man to the floor and pulled a heavy bed over him.

-He cut up the pieces of the old man and hid it so the police couldn't find it.

-The narrator hears noises in his head getting louder and louder and he thought the police heard it too.
