Uranium's chemical symbol is U. Uranium's atomic number is 92.Uranium's atomic mass is 238.029.

Uranium was discovered in 1789 by Martin Heinrich Klaproth.

On Earth,Uranium ore can be found in mines in Canada, Russia, and in Sub-Saharan Africa. In space, Uranium can be found from supernovas.

PHYISCAL DESCRIPTION OF URANIUM

  • Solid shiny silvery metal
  • Ductile and malleable
  • Actinide family
  • The heaviest and last naturally occurring element on the periodic table

Some uses of Uranium are atomic bombs,nuclear weapons,and nuclear fuel.

One isotope of uranium is uranium-235 which is used in nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons.

Another isotope of uranium is uranium-238 which is used as fuel for nuclear reactors.

I picked uranium because it is used in bombs and weapons. The United States dropped a uranium bomb on Hiroshima, Japan at the end of World War II.
