• It's atmosphere is mostly made up of hydrogen and helium
• It's the coldest planet in the solar system
• It's temperature is between -243 degrees and -370 degrees

I chose this planet because the info that I gathered interested me. I also liked the bright green/blue color that came from the hydrogen and helium in the atmosphere. I wanted to pick a planet that I didn't get to know that well before this project.

• It is the 7th planet from the sun
• It is the 3rd largest planet in the solar system
• It is considered an outer planet

How Uranus Got It's Name

• Closest planets to the sun (that were visible to the eye) got named after greek gods by the Romans
• Uranus got picked for the name of the god of the sky because of it's green/blue color
• Discovered by William Herschel on March 13, 1781

How Much Longer?

• 1 year=84.3 Earth years
• 1 Day=16 hours

Gravity

• If you weighed 100 lbs. on Earth, you would weigh 88.9 lbs.
• You would weigh 11.1 lbs. less

We would not be able to live on Uranus due to freezing cold temperatures and dangerous gases.
