Ursa Major Constellation

Ursa Major is a very popular constellation, but do you know the story of how it got up there, with all the other constellations? Well, I’ll tell you: The myth states that there was a huntress named Callisto who swore a vow to of chastity to the goddess Artemis. Zeus saw Callisto one day, immediately fell in love, and so Callisto and Zeus had a son named Arcas. Artemis banished Callisto because she broke the vow, but then, after banished, Zeus’ wife, Hera, turned Callisto into a bear out of her rage of Zeus’ betrayal. Then, one day Arcas found Callistio in bear form, and not knowing that the bear was his mother, he was about to kill her. But, Zeus saved her life, and instead of being killed, Callisto and Arcas were put into the night sky in the form of Ursa Major (Callisto), and Ursa Minor (Arcas).
