• Government requires our consent to make change

• - people exercise their power by delegation
• Republicanism chosen by them through the election of votes

FEDERALISM

• -power is divided between central gov & the state gov.
• One state says yes an another says no
• Marijuana in Colorado and not in Texas

• Power within the national gov is divided into three branches
• Congress (makes laws)
• President (enforces laws)
• Supreme Court (interperpates the constitution)
