HISTORY The French and British ruled Vanuatu until there was an independence movement. ThenNew Hebrides became Vanuatu. The name has been interpreted many different ways but it means something along the lines of homeland.
NI VANUATU PEOPLE Ni Vanuatu people are the indigenous people of Vanuatu. The indigenous people are mainly Melasian (Melasia is the islands from the west end of the Pacific Sea to the Arafura Sea) but some are from other cultures.
LANDMARK- CHAMPAGNE BEACH Champagne Beach is located on Espititu Santo Island and is famous for its crystal clear water, and is regarded by many to be the most beautiful beach in the South Pacific a area.
LANDMARK- MOUNT YASUR Mount Yasur is a volcano located on Tanna Island. It's latest eruption was in 2008. The volcano is known as The Lighthouse of the Pacific because of its regular eruptions.
