GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION

  • Venezuela is located Northern South America
  • Borders Caribbean Sea and northern Atlantic Ocean.
  • Between Columbia and Guyana.

CLIMATE

  • Although the country lies within the tropics, it's climate varies.
  • The temperature lies anywhere from extremely humid to alpine depending on elevation.
  • Country has a distinct rainy period (May through November)

  • Tequeños- Fried Cheese sticks
  • Perico- Scrambled eggs with tomato and onion
  • Tajadas- Fried ripe plantain
  • Guascaca- Avocado salsa

CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS

  • Most people in Venezuela are Roman Catholic
  • Venezuelans national dance is Joropo
  • If you are invited to a Venezuelans house, arrive 15-30 minutes later than invited
  • Arriving on time or early shows that you are too eager, or greedy

  • Won more Miss Universe and Miss Worlds than any other country.
  • On Christmas in Caracas streets are blocked off for people to rollerblade to church.
  • Hot showers are very rare in Venezuela
  • The largest rodent in the world, capybaras, live in Venezuela

  • Roman coins have been found all over Venezuela.
  • A lock if Simon Bolivar's hair is on display at a museum in Venezuela.

  • The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League was established in 1945
  • Venezuela has participated in the Olympics since 1948.
  • Venezuela participates in the Pan American Games and the Central American and Caribbean Games.
