VENICE FLOODS

SUMMARY

• Venice Flooded with it’s second highest level of water
• On Tuesday people were climbing out of window due to the water
• The water went up to six feet high before 11 pm

• It started to flood on Tuesday November 12, 2019
• The flood happened in the city of Venice which is in a series of islands that are part of Italy.

• To Explain/Describe because they were just stating facts and info
• The author was never trying to get people to think one way about this and another way about that.

WHY IS THIS NEWSWORTHY

• Venice is a very pretty place and it has historic churches and now they are flooded.
• The mayor of Venice blames it on climate change
• Mr.Luigi Cavaleri (he is an engineer) said that every year Venice will sink one fifth of an inch

WHY I CHOSE THIS TOPIC

• Venice has a lot of historic,old,and beautiful churches that are being ruined.
• Venice has been around for so long and now it could disappear or it could become deserted

WHAT LENS

• Geographical
• I chose the geographical lens because Venice is made up of 118 “floating islands” and now they are flooding and sinking at the same time.
