On November 11, 1921 a soldier from World War I was buried at Arlington National Cemetary.

ARMISTICE DAY BECAME A FEDERAL HOLIDAY

CONGRESS CHANGED THE NAME IN 1954 to honor all American veterans.

VETERANS'S DAY HONORS ALL MEN & WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES MILITARY

Many communities HONOR veterans at parades & special ceremonies.
