Advantages

  • Can make audience increase attention on speaker
  • Helps audience understand main ideas better
  • Helps audience retain information

Disadvantages

  • Overused
  • Boring
  • Speech content neglected
  • Speaker tends to turn back to audience

Document Camera

Advantages

  • Projects images with great detail
  • Can zoom in
  • Capture images
  • Can display wide range of items

Disadvantages

  • Must manage order of items to be projected
  • Speaker tends to talk to screen 

Interactive Whiteboard

Advantages

  • Encourages audience participation
  • Enjoyable to use
  • Captures and saves boards
  • Serves as screen
  • Interfaces with polling technology

Disadvantages

  • Best used for instructional  group activities
  • Not good to use for presenting
  • Expensive

Human Assistance

Advantages

  • Helps demonstrate two-person activities
  • Realistic
  • Strokes audience interest

Disadvantages

  • Close co-ordination with assistant required
  • Can appear unprofessional 
  • Human failure
