VITAMIN C (ASCORBIC ACID) IS A WATER-SOLUBLE NUTRIENT FOUND IN SOME FOODS.

  • The body also needs this to make collagen, a protein required to help wounds heal.
  • Improves the absorption of iron from plant-based foods and helps the immune system work properly .
  • To protect the body from disease

WHY DO WE NEED IT?

  • To help form bones, teeth, muscle and skin.
  • To maintain healthy blood vessels and gums.
  • To resist infection and healing wounds.
  • To help iron absorption.

WHAT FOOD SOURCES DOES IT COME FROM?

  • Other fruits snd vegetables.
  • Some foods and beverages are fortified with vitamin C

DEFICIENCY WITH VITAMIN C
