Composite function

a function whose values are found from two given functions

Index

Number or symbol, written as a subscript or superscript to a mathematical expression

Inverse function

An inverse function is a function that "reverses" another function.

Inverse relation

Is the relation that occurs when the order of the elements is changed

Like radicals

Are radicals that have the same root number and radicand

Nth root

A number multiplied times itself n times to equal a given value

Principal root

The nonnegative root of a number

Radical function

Rational function are functions which can be defined by a rational fraction

Radicand

a number which is having its square root taken

Rational exponent

A rational exponent represents both an integer exponent and an nth root

Rationalize the denominator

Multiply top and bottom by the conjugate of the denominator

Square root equations

A "radical" equation is at least 1 variable inside a radical, usually a square root

Square root function

The function f(x) = √x, makes half a parabola with a vertical directrix
