MOUNT EREBUS

Mount Erebus is located in Antartica which is in the untied states and is on the north american continent. It is made up of divergent tectonic plates. It is a composite volcano and was formed by vasting rocks and another volcano fused the rocks together and it took 4 years for the magma to build up under the volcano.

CLASSIFICATION

  • It is a composite volcano
  • It has explosive eruptions

Background
Mount Erebus last eruption was in 2011 and has not seemed very threatening since. The climate that mount Erebus is cold and snowy most of they year.it is the highest and most active volcano in Antartica. Mount Erebus has a lava lake near it.

HAZARDS

  • It first became active in 1972 and sort of was forgotten in 1972
  • Erupted in 2011 was an explosive eruption but nothing serious

Conclusion: I do not think it will erupt for a while but will be active and will erupt after 30 or 40 years that they discover its activeness
