VOLCANIC FACTS

• Volcanoes are openings in the earth's surface
• When active it will erupt
• Volcanoes are usually located where tetonic plates meet
• The liquid in the volcano is known as magma/lava
• The biggest volcano in our solar system is Olympus Mons

LAVA LAKES

• Lava lakes are volumes of, molten lava
• usually basaltic, contained in a volcanic vent, crater, or broad depression.

• Fresh volcanic ash made of (Pulverized) rock can be harsh
• Magma is a mixture of molten or semi-molten rock, volatiles
