Chicano Walkouts
BY: SIERRA AND PRANATHI
2.
Conditions
Chicano students didn't learn English, so many failed their classes, which were taught in English.
The school buildings, facilities, and quality of education were much worse for Mexican American students.

3.
actions
The students threatened the government to do a walkout if their demands weren't met.
10,000 students walked out of 5 high schools across L.A.
4.
Obstacles
The police entered the town and arrested 13 teenagers.
The bail for the teenagers was very high, $10,000, and angered the community.
5.
Achievements
Some demands were met; more Hispanic teachers were hired, and there were more academic programs.
The walkouts helped attract more attention on bad education that the Chicanos had.
