Horses would die from the cold weather, illness, getting shot.

When one of the horses would die it hurt the men/their owner just as bad as if one of there soliders had died.

The horses had to go through & experience a lot of things most horses don't go through

• Violent sounds
• People screaming

They sen bright gun flashes that come from the guns after fired, also seen lost of people laying died or screaming out for help
